Channelised repeater coverage underground

Two-way radio carried from a surface headend down the decline and shaft to the working levels, using a channelised repeater rather than additional base stations.

RFI's DSPbR is a channelised repeater handling up to eight bi-directional channels in a single unit, with cross-band operation that translates one frequency plan to another. Its power efficiency, size and remote alarming make it an economic alternative to additional base stations underground.

Where this applies

  • 01Declines and drives where a surface base station has no path underground.
  • 02Operations needing more channels than a single repeater band plan allows, using cross-band translation.
  • 03Deepening mines where the distribution is extended level by level as development advances.
  • 04Sites where additional base stations are uneconomic against a channelised repeater.
